My name is Javi Perez, I am a photographer and graphic designer from Arizona. Being creative energizes me like nothing else and I love it! My work mostly revolves around music and artists. In my photos, I aim to portray a dream like state as for me, music has been vital to helping me feel at ease.

I work with the mindset of "do more, with less." I don't mean spreading myself thin but working hard with the resources and tools I have to create something I am proud of!

What gear do you use?

For photography, a Canon 6D with a Canon 50mm 1.8. I use Photoshop and Lightroom to edit. For design, Illustrator, Photoshop and a Wacom small intuos tablet.

How do you get to shoot shows?

I contact the artists press contact from their Facebook page and ask! I am with a publication, which does make getting a photo pass easier.

How did you get started?

I have always loved going to shows and photography but never thought to mix the two. I had admired photographers like Ashely Osborn and Adam Elmakias and thought why not give it a try. My first show was a Surf Curse show at Club Congress in Tucson, Arizona. The venue allows professional cameras so I just walked in. There was 60 people max at the show so I stayed at the front and took some pictures of their set. After the show, some people came up to me and asked where they could see the pictures. It was encouraging that people wanted to see my work! Being creative makes me feel so energized that I just kept doing it!
